CarAnalytics is an option for vehicle history and valuation; Ralph is an option when you also want available auction evidence connected to estimated repairs and a maximum-bid calculation. The choice depends on what you still need to establish about the particular car.
This comparison is written by Ralph's founder. It uses CarAnalytics' official public pages checked on 5 October 2026, alongside Ralph's current product coverage. We have not purchased matching reports from both services or independently measured data completeness, accuracy or delivery time. Public descriptions establish advertised coverage, not which records will be returned for your vehicle.
Start with the product, not the headline price
CarAnalytics' price page lists a Full Vehicle History Check at £10.99, including VAT. It advertises finance, stolen and write-off checks, valuation and MOT information. Its separate Digital Service Book and Market Check are also listed at £10.99 each.
The same page lists three full history checks for £19.99 and five for £24.99. Those bundles are not the price of a single check or every standalone product. Previously Seen Adverts is shown as a £2.99 optional Full Check add-on, and OEM Service History as an £8.99 add-on. Check the current basket and coverage terms before payment.
Ralph also separates products and selected checks. Review the credit quote for the combination you need; a Free Check, Auction Bid Report, Premium Check and Custom selection are not interchangeable baskets.
Compare the questions each basket answers
| Buyer question | CarAnalytics' public offering | What to check in Ralph |
|---|---|---|
| Are key background markers returned? | Its Full Check advertises finance, stolen and write-off information. | Choose the relevant paid product or Custom checks; review returned records and missing-data notes. |
| What could the car be worth? | Valuation is advertised in the Full Check and Market Check. | Auction valuation feeds into the financial ceiling, with the valuation basis and adjustments displayed. |
| Are earlier adverts available? | Previously Seen Adverts is an optional add-on. | Previous Advert History is a separate Custom check for auction buyers. |
| Are manufacturer service records available? | Separate service-record products and an optional add-on are listed. | Manufacturer service records are a separate Custom Check; check returned coverage for the car. |
| What should I allow for the current auction repair plan? | We have not verified an equivalent complete workflow from the pages reviewed. | Available listing and photo evidence inform repair estimates, with source labels and uncertainty. |
| What is my maximum bid after costs and target saving? | Confirm the provider's exact scope; no equivalent complete calculation was verified here. | Review fees, transport, repairs, reserve and the selected saving in the auction calculation. |
The unverified rows are questions to investigate. They are not claims that CarAnalytics cannot provide a feature.
Valuation and a maximum bid answer different questions
Valuation helps anchor the price discussion. It does not, by itself, include every cost of buying, collecting and repairing an auction car.
Ralph's illustrative report shows a £5,220 market value when repaired and a £1,150 maximum bid, with an estimated £3,905 delivered and repaired total. The numbers walkthrough explains that fictional plan. It is not a purchased-report result against CarAnalytics or a promised outcome for another lot.

Original fictional sample-report capture. The figures demonstrate the valuation basis, not independently verified resale proceeds.
The saving selection changes the financial ceiling; it does not certify repair quality, erase a historical marker or guarantee profit. Read market value versus maximum bid before comparing the two numbers.
Do not treat the sample as a product inclusion list
The demonstration includes previous adverts to illustrate the vehicle's story. Current auction Premium does not automatically include Previous Advert History. Manufacturer service records also require the appropriate Custom selection. Some records may be unavailable for a particular vehicle.
Likewise, neither dated service records nor an MOT pass establish physical battery health or diagnose hidden mechanical faults. The report evidence and an assessment of the current car answer different questions.
Which would I consider?
I would consider CarAnalytics when its advertised history, valuation and optional records answer my outstanding questions, especially if its bundle fits the number of cars I plan to check. I would confirm the full basket before comparing prices.
I would consider Ralph when I want available listing and history evidence brought into the auction repair and cost plan. I would still confirm the fee assumptions, transport quote and unresolved repair scope before relying on the bid ceiling.
For the underlying history decision, read free MOT versus paid vehicle history. An unexplained mileage discrepancy can be a reason to leave a lot even when the financial calculation looks workable.
Next step: inspect CarAnalytics' current products and prices, then explore Ralph's sample auction report. Choose the basket that answers the questions about your car.
